  2. Then, in the search bar, you have to write “cmd”.
  3. Now, form the search result, you have to right-click on the option of “Command Prompt”. From the context menu, you have to select the option of “Run as an administrator”. This will help you to open an elevated Command Prompt. 
  4. Here, you have to write the given command and hit Enter after writing it.
    chkdsk /f /r 
  5. After that, you will get the option to schedule the scan when your computer boots up the next time. To confirm this option, you need to type Y and hit Enter. 
  6. Now, restart your system.
  7. CHKDSK will start running automatically when the computer boots up. This process will take some time to complete. All you have to do is wait patiently.
